The joys of technology: we experience them everyday with our computers in our offices, with the photo copy machine down the hall, and of course with our cell phones and personal devices. Some out there would be lost without our precious technology. I have even seen the occasional episode or freak out from someone who lost or misplaced their cell phone. We truly are attached to our technology, for better or worse. All aspects of technology have one fatal flaw: they do not always work. This seems obvious, and it is, but we still get very upset when something does not go our way. These days, most companies and organizations have some sort of network system set up. From schools to banks to restaurants, computers are all connected via some sort of network. This helps keeps everyone's computers on the same page, and it can even allow remote access so that no one is tied down to their spot. But technology fails, and networks crash. There is no way of preventing the occasional bug or virus. Information Technology experts, or IT personnel have to deal with these problems all the time. They sometimes employ something called patch management to these common problems. Patch management can get quite complicated, and years ago most IT people might not even fully understand it. Patch management is a way of fixing lines of codes on computers, i.e. managing different patches. One thing very difficult about patch management is that there are so many places and areas where a problem can occur. That is why patch management is only used by the best of computer engineers and IT personnel. I do believe that the more connected everyone becomes, the more and more you will hear about patch management.
